The prEMBL modules are released at

They were written by Mattew Pocock and myself.

They come with their own internal pod documentation.

The prEMBL modules are a set of Perl modules designed
for the easy parsing and manipulation of EMBL-format
type databases. At the moment, the EMBL database
has been fully delt with inside prEMBL.

prEMBL is ideal for doing large scale edit operations
on EMBL files (eg, removing all repeat features) or
building EMBL objects from other datasources sensibly
(the main use at the Sanger Centre).

Matthew is looking at encorporating a swissprot/trembl
parser provided by the EBI swissprot group (thanks alot!).
We are thinking about its role in bioperl. It is unlikely
to become part of the core modules in bioperl as it is only
of use to a limited number of people and has quite a few
modules. Any suggestions are very welcome.
