In sequence analysis a feature refers to an specific location on a biological sequence, usually a sub-sequence. The feature is defined using coordinates on the sequence (e.g. from position 300 to 423), along with some description of the feature type ('e.g. promoter region") along with other information if available. In most common sequence formats the features are collated together in the feature table.
